- Cut eight 1-inch-wide strips from a refrigerated rolled pie crust.
- Spread each strip of dough with whole-grain mustard, then sprinkle with grated extra-sharp Cheddar cheese.
- Wrap each piece of dough around a small Italian sausage and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds.
- Bake at 425 degrees F until the sausages are cooked through, 20 to 25 minutes.
